Academics
At OCA, graduation isn’t simply the finish line. We prepare students to leave with courageous faith, proven independence, academic confidence, and a clear sense of purpose—ready for college, career, and their God-given calling.
Primary (PreK-1st & 2nd-4th)
We believe young children learn best when they are known, encouraged, and joyful in the process. Grounded in child development and brain science, our thematic teaching approach connects learning across subjects while creating a positive environment where curiosity, relationships, and social development are valued. Joy doesn’t replace rigor—it creates the confidence and enthusiasm that make deeper learning possible.
Middle (5th-8th)
Academically, these years are about developing students who know how to learn, think, persevere, and take ownership of their work. Grounded in brain science and effective teaching practices, students develop the skills to become increasingly self-directed and self-correcting.
Critical thinking, collaboration, and hands-on experiences bring learning to life. Rather than simply preparing students for the next test, we are preparing them to become independent thinkers, confident learners, faithful Christians, and young people of character who are ready for what comes next.
High School (9th-12th)
Academically, students transition from being guided learners to independent, responsible young adults who take ownership of their success. Through a highly individualized program, they set personal learning goals, manage their responsibilities, and develop the discipline and perseverance needed for college, career, and life.
Through OCA’s Early University program, most students begin college coursework through Grand Canyon University during their junior year, earning high school and college credit simultaneously. By graduation, students have completed at least a full year of college—giving them an extraordinary head start on whatever comes next.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”
